Intuitous Announces a New Alternative to
Programmable Thermostats
Innovative new product interconnects the home security system with the
HVAC system
to automatically save energy when no one’s home
Toronto, Ontario – August 22, 2011 – Intuitous Inc., an innovator in the emerging field of energy conservation
technologies for buildings today announced availability of a new energy conservation product for single family homes.
The new Home Energy Controller is positioned as an alternative to programmable thermostats that require
homeowners to program their family schedule into a thermostat.
“Homes equipped with a security system know when you’re home, or away, or sleeping… so why should you
guess about these times in advance and attempt to program your schedule into a thermostat?” said Randy Remme,
President of Intuitous. “The Intuitous system is more productive than programmable thermostats because it
seizes every opportunity to save energy, whether a vacancy is planned and programmed or not.”
The product is installed on the furnace and connects to the security panel. The controller overrides the
existing thermostat and automatically enters into an energy saving setback mode when the alarm system is
set in the “Armed – AWAY” or “Armed – STAY” modes. No programming or user intervention is required; it
simply saves energy when no one’s home.
The Home Energy Controller is available through Intuitous’ network of security dealers across North America.
Interested new dealers are encouraged to contact the company by phone at 416-747-7612 or email
sales@intuitous.com.
For a limited time, DIY enthusiasts can purchase the controller at the company’s online store
(store.intuitous.com)
for $195.
